Chocolate is one of the world's favourite confections, and who can blame us? That melt in the mouth sensation is enough to put anyone in seventh heaven. Bristol has had a long an treasured association with chocolate, and at the M Shed Museum, the Chocolate! exhibition is celebration the past two hundred and fifty years of the city's chocolate production history.

At the exhibition, which is between the 2nd February - 6th May you will be able to see over five hundred objects dating from 1729, including the last Fry's Chocolate bar and last Elizabeth Shaw Mint Crisp chocolates.

Discover what it is like to work at a chocolate factory by working with the machinery, and experiencing all the smells, tastes, and textures. From bean to bar you, the whole chocolate making process will be unwrapped. You will be able to design your own chocolate box, and if you remember to note down the classic recipes for Turkish Delights and Vanilla Chocolates, you'll be able to fill the box with your own homemade sweets.

Admission is £5 for adults, £3 for children, £10 for a family ticket, and under 5s go free. Everyone who visits will get a free chocolate. To save a bit of money, go on one of their special free entry days, which are the 20th February, 20th March, and 17th April.

There will also be special events going on over the course of the exhibition, such as a screening of Chocolate on Valentine's Day at 7pm. You and your partner can enjoy an evening of Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche, along with champagne and truffles for just £6. To book call 0117 352 6914. You can also see Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on the 2nd April at 2pm. This screening is free and requires no booking.

Then on the 23rd February at 11am, you can learn about the Elizabeth Shaw chocolate company started out in Bristol, whose factory sadly closed down in 2006.

Women's Day will be given a special chocolate and honey evening on the 8th March between 6pm-9pm. Celebrate the lives of remarkable women with Fairtrade chocolate tastings, demonstrations, talks, music, and nibbles. Tickets are £8. To book call 0117 352 6914.

For a fun day with the kids over the holidays, you can join a free Easter basket making workshop on either 27th March between 10am-1pn or 28th March between 2pm-4pm.
