Based on real life events back in the roaring 1920s, the story revolves around murderess Roxie Hart and her cell block rival, double-killer Velma Kelly. The woman must rely on smooth-talking lawyer Billy Flynn and their notoriety in the press to help get them released.
With a soundtrack of killer, sassy jazz-fuelled tunes from Razzle Dazzle to Cell Black Tango, When You're Good To Mama and All That Jazz, plus Bob Fosse styled sexy choreography, the musical won six Tony awards along with two Oliviers and a Grammy. The hit movie starring Catherine Zeta Jones, Rene Zellwegger and Richard Gere secured it a further two Baftas and six Oscars.
