If you love a game of strategy and planning your next move, you might want to come along to the weekly Chess club and test your skills against some of the best players in the city.
Every Monday afternoon regular players take part in chess games and mini tournaments. If you are a seasoned player or just want to learn this is a great, friendly group where you can put your strategic playing skills to the test.
Based at Manchester's Forum Library in Wythenshawe, this is a great location hosting many clubs and societies. The club meets every Monday from 1pm-4pm. Feel free to drop in at any time, the players meet in the reference section of the library, ask at the help desk if you are unsure where to go. The best part about this club is that it is free for everyone. This is perfect for anyone looking to try out the game and broaden their social calendar without breaking the bank. Maybe it was your new year's resolution to join a club, learn a skill or meet new people. Why not do all three at the same time. This friendly and supportive group are happy for new members to come along. Visit as many times as you can, there are no strict rules about going every week, so just pop along and see if this is a club for you.
