You can get a lot of shopping done in town, but there is the downside of traffic, pollution, noise, and an all together rushed atmosphere. If you want all the fun off shopping without any of the stress, then take a day out to the Chelsea Physique Garden on the 30th November & 1st December, when they are holding a Christmas Fair. There is no entry fee for under 16s; Adult tickets are £5, but if you take a friend with you, they'll get in free too.
This shopping experience will allow you to browse the market stalls surrounded, not by cars, but beautiful plants grown in London's oldest Botanic Garden. Plants and gardening equipment will be available to buy, as will all your other fancy gifts, such as jewellery, clothes for all ages (including cashmere), ceramics, preserves, chocolates, cheese, smoked salmon and other festive treats.
For an extra £2.50 you will be able to take part in a Crafty Christmas Creations Family Workshop, where you will make decorations, cards, and gifts from recycled materials.
While you are there, you can also take a guided tour and pop into the Tangerine Dream Cafe for hot breakfasts, lunches, mince pies, game, and mulled wine.
