Whether you're crazy about Camembert, bonkers about Brie or simply a Feta fanatic, there's something happening down at the Southbank in April which is sure to get your salivary glands working overtime – oh, and there's wine involved too. Perfect.
It's the 2013 Cheese and Wine Festival, taking place at the Southbank Centre beside the Thames over three days from Friday 26th April.
Plenty of cheese and wine businesses will be attending, showing off their wares. Be sure to check out La Cave a Fromage's fine selection of cheese and wine, the Bath Soft Cheese Company's award winning offerings, and La Fromagerie's superb range of delectable farmhouse cheeses sourced directly from a number of Europe's best artisan producers.
And it's not all cheese and wine. The Arancini Brothers, for example, will be there with their famous risotto balls, Creperie Nicolas will be offering up some tasty crepes (cheese fillings available), and The Dessert Deli will be in attendance with its delicious range of desserts and cakes. And if you prefer beer to wine, you're in luck.
Enjoy tutored tastings at the event's Cheese and Wine Cookery Theatre given by cheese and wine experts from around the world, as well as a number of recipe demonstrations by top chefs.
The Cheese and Wine Festival takes place at Southbank Centre Square, a pedestrianised space between the Royal Festival Hall and Belvedere Road. Located a short walk from the Thames, it's the perfect location for a laid back gathering like this.
