Don't put the kettle on, come here
Tea brings everyone together, especially in the UK where tea is the champion of all things right: hot, calming, hydrating and nerve-settling.

'Jamaican Rum' Tea Sample

The Pavilions is home to a new tea shop: Char Wallah. Brand new and smelling like a freshly brewed cuppa they sell tea-only (in terms of consumables). Don't expect cakes of any kind because it is not a tea room, which implies exceptionally good cakes and tea, no; Char Wallah are purveyors of pure unadulterated tea.

'Jamaican Rum Tea'

They have an extensive range of teas from all over the world owners Andy and Julie have recently returned from a trip to India where they sampled new merchandise and they specialise in exclusive blends such as 'Jamaican Rum'.

'Jamaican Rum' Tea Leaves

The shop is large enough to seat at least twenty people at a time, but many tend to sample what their interested in and take it away, so it is unlikely that you will be pushed for somewhere to sit. If the glossy topped tables and high seating don't take your fancy, they have a cosier settee at the back of the shop.

That's what they want you to do though shop. Try the various flavours, peruse the things that catch your eye and enquire.

It's not just tea they sell however, but tea pots, tea strainers, mugs, tea cups, sets of china, and tea-inspired trinkets. If you're a big fan, or know someone who is then you can even buy them a glass tea pot, so they can strain the leaves properly and allow it to brew the correct way. Or maybe even an extra-large mug if you can't decide on which tea they'd like, mugs are always appreciated.

Here's to a well-made cuppa.

Check on Char Wallah's website for regular updates on their blends, any other tea-related news.
