Pop in store for complementary treats and activities
So it might be the last place you would expect Chinese New Year Celebrations to take place but the popular Manchester Selfridges store is set to be transformed for the start of the Year of the Dog and there will be a host of activities going on in the Manchester store.

The celebrations start early on Thursday 15th February and run until Sunday 18th February, with some activities continuing later into the month. Perfect for visitors to the city and anyone wanting to celebrate the Chinese New Year, there will be fun in-store activities for everyone to enjoy. Don't miss out on the Chinese New Year take over of this popular store. So here's what's happening in store:
Say it with a card
Especially for the Year of the Dog, you can get a special card featuring a Selfridges pug. A personalised message can be added to make it extra special and this will be available in English or Chinese.
New Year New Me?
Treat yourself to a complimentary make-over from Lancome in the beauty hall. This is your chance to try out the Chinese New Year collection of products. This will be going on until Friday 23rd February, so don't worry if you can't make it to this weekend's celebrations.
Also taking place from 15th-23rd February are the Nars make-up lessons which will be using a Chinese New Year palette. You can enjoy a complimentary 20-minute lesson and see if these new products are for you.
For the Chinese New Year weekend celebrations on 17th-18th February, a calligrapher will be in store able to create a complimentary calligraphy design just for you. Don't worry if you miss these dates though, as there will be another chance on Saturday 24th February. This event will take place between 2pm-6pm. Grab yourself a unique design.

Pop in store between 16th-17th between 2pm-5pm and you could be the lucky winner of a red envelope containing complimentary beauty treatments such as facials and makeovers. If someone offers you a red envelope, don't say no, as it could be your lucky day!
New Year New Shoes?
Who doesn't love a pair of new shoes! If you buy a pair on Friday 16th February, you can get a free customisation from an artist. Taking place between 2pm-8pm, men can have their trainers customised with artwork from Matt B Customs and Mr Lee along with their shoe box being decorated and women can meet artist Jessica Bayliss, who will be customising shoe boxes. Add a touch of artistic style to your next pair of shoes.
