Usually when you go to the market, you have some kind of practical reason in mind; maybe it is to stocking up on groceries or you're onlooking out for a few handmade birthday gifts. But Camden Lock offers much more than trading stalls; it is like no other market in London. The organisers are always putting on new events to keep interest booming. Last week for example, they held a boutique's festival that went down a storm.

Building on that success, their latest idea is to hold a late night market every Thursday between 6pm-10pm until the 29th August. With deck chairs on the lawn and Rekorderlig cider, it is the perfect place to stop off for some downtime, before heading home from work.

Not one for cider? No worries, go on a cocktail trail instead. Head over the boat bar and choose from a selection of wacky drinks such as The Vanilla Fling, Lemonade Buck, Tia Maria Espresso Martini, and the Monkey Mule with bacon dipped in chocolate. Cocktail vouchers are £6 or £20 for all four.

There will also be ping pong, and film aficionados can look forward to outdoor screenings of films such as Die Hard, The Stone Roses, and Evil Dead II. Organised by Backyard Cinema , there will be barbecues, cold beer, popcorn, and compulsory sing-a-longs.
