The first thing you should know - this Camden Head actually isn't to be confused with the pub of the same name in Camden (come on, this is London - that would be too easy). So where is it then? Well, as you can see from the map, it's actually in the heart of Islington, taking it's name from Camden Walk, the street it is located on.
Hidden off the main drag of the High Street, this Camden Head is an exceptional pub, full of old world charm and fine ales supplied by the brewers and owners Taylor Walker. The pub is a Grade II listed building, and is one of the most attractive pubs to mull over a pint in the Angel area - especially for those fancying an after work drink or a pub lunch.
This doesn't mean that this is a place for a quiet night in - if it's noise and bustle you want, come along for one of it's ever-increasingly-popular free comedy nights, held on Thursdays and Saturdays. Be aware though, thanks to the high quality of the comedians on show, it does become very, very busy (especially on Saturdays), so expect to get there early and queue.
All in all, a busy evening pub, or a perfect place to pass the time on a weekday with a traditional ale (for the traditionalists) - I can even well imagine that the patio will be a brilliant place to catch in the rays of the long summer nights, due to its size and location - what more could you ask for, I mean, really?
