Dreaming of a beach escape for you, your friends and your family? Well, you only have to travel to Camden to laze about at the newly opened Camden Beach. Yes folks, during the month of July and August the organizers of The Roundhouse have laid down 150 tonnes of sand and set up Camden Beach. Best of all, this beach escape will cost you only the price of a tube fare.

Londoners might recall a few years ago there was a temporary beach in East London right beside Spitalfields Market running parallel from The Big Chill and Rough Trade East. Camden Beach expands on this idea with the addition of palm trees, badminton, ping-pong, a margarita shack and a Tiki Hut serving BBQ food, bar snacks, ice cream and a Happy Hour from 5pm-7pm offering 2 for 1 on all cocktails from Monday-Friday.

There is also a family-friendly area where families can bring their buckets and spades.

Don't want to miss the Olympics? Camden Beach is also broadcasting the games on their large LED TV's located all around the beach and inside the Tiki Hut.

Only a 30 second walk from Chalk Farm tube, Camden Beach is open everyday from 11am – 11pm throughout July and August. Now, all London needs is some sun ...
