Now, I've never been to Italy, nor Edinburgh until recently, but you can find a slice of Milan in Edinburgh's Old Town.

Coffee and cake
My friends and I dropped into
Caffe Lucano for breakfast the other day, and we felt as though we'd been whisked away to Italy. Dapper Italian gentlemen sip their daily cappuccino, fresh pasta and seafood specials are scrawled on a floor-to-ceiling blackboard and it smells like fresh basil and Amalfi lemons.
I've got a thing for Eggs Benedict (£7.50), which is a speciality at Caffe Lucano, with an especially tasty prosciutto version available alongside the usual ham, Florentine and smoked salmon variations. My friends and I hoovered up breakfast in no time, and sipped little mugs of espresso. It was a great start to the day.

Eggs Benedict
Another perk of this little place is that there's ice-cream on the menu at every time of day. If you visit around lunchtime mood try the small but perfectly formed pizza menu - starting from £8.00. It's fantastic.
