Don't worry, this is not an accidental electricity blackout, where we're all going to be scrounging about in search of a torch and candles. The is in fact a celebration coinciding with the Mayor's Thames Festival between the 6th - 15th September.

While the daylight hours play host to talks, walks and cruises, as the evening sets in you'll be able to enjoy the beauty of the Thames by candlelight. D&D London own a restaurant collective along Butler's Wharf, and during the festival, four of their venues will be switching off the lights to give you 'a unique dining experience free from light pollution.'

From 8.30pm each night, you can book a table at either the Blueprint Cafe , Butler's Wharf Chop House , Cantina del Ponte , or Le Ponte del a Tour , and have a candlelit supper with a view of the Thames and the stars.

There will also be special evenings such as the Neon Noir Silent Disco, Fire and Flame Night, Victorian Feast & Ghost Tour, and Love is Blind, in which you will dine blindfolded. The highlight of the event is the Blackout Banquet, in which a forty-metre banqueting table will span the riverbank, and offer guests a rotating menu.
