Everyone loves comfort food (the name is something of a giveaway), but unfortunately it is intrinsically associated with being full of fat, sugar, salt, and all other things unhealthy. Patrick Holford is a nutritional therapist and author, who says that it does not have to be that way. Food can be comforting and healthy at the same time.
And to prove it, on the 29th March, he is holding a nutritional comfort food brunch and seminar. It will be held at Coup, a new health cafe on Lupus Street that has not yet officially opened. All their food is organic, gluten free, dairy free, and has a low glycemic index. It is Coup's intention to leave you 'feeling energetic, happy and well nourished'.
Although it will be beneficial to anyone, it will particularly help those who suffer from food intolerances, allergies, boating, or lethargy.
The day will start at 11am with a filling granola pot with maqui berries; this will be accompanied by a side-portion of kale chips, and a delicious cacao and avocado smoothie.
Holford will then give the first half of his seminar 'Lose Weight, Gain energy and Live Intolerance Free'. It will cover how to integrate a low glycemic diet into your lifestyle.
At half past one there will be a gourmet lunch break with either a turkey or chia mushroom burger served on in buckwheat bun, accompanied by sweet potato fries, goji salsa, and a salad of mulberries, quinoa, arugala and sacha inchi.
Holford will then finish his presentation on the sbject of dairy and gluten free diets, after which everyone will receive a recipe filled goody bag and coconut protein truffles.
