The beach is referred to locally as the UK's equivalent of a beach in Thailand due to its idyllic sheltered stretches of shingles, offering a pleasant swimming spot with a small tidal island that has a lookout.
It's a perfect spot to relax on a sunny day in Devon.

Broadsands Beach
When driving there, set your GPS/Sat Nav to find Sandy Cove Hotel at postcode EX34 9SR, then when you get there, go down the Old Coast Road that runs directly behind it, and enter the wooded area following the road for several hundred metres - you'll eventually see a large sign on the right that points to the stairs
You then have to walk down a steep path that has over 200 steps and goes through the woods that cling to the side of the cliff. Once you arrive at the bottom, you could explore the island or just find a spot to relax for a few hours before you have to make the fun climb back up the cliff side.

View from the beach
Located nearby are several caravan and camping parks providing ample options to stay in the area and explore the many beaches and caves along the coastline. There is also the Watermouth Family Theme Park and Castle nearby on the other side of the A399.
