Village Green, Carnival, Piazza, Music & Comedy in Hyde Park
Summer hasn't really shown us its face very much so far, although it has occasionally lifted its skirts to give us a glimpse of what we might be able to expect over the coming months. Whether or not you think you need sunshine and blue skies to enjoy entertainment in the open air, we are assured of British Summer Time in Hyde Park this July, although it may be a park that is not as you know it.
The festival kicks off on 5 July with gigs by Bon Jovi, the Kaiser Chiefs and Bush, followed by a weekend of the Rolling Stones, JLS and the Beach Boys. The rest of the week will be a little calmer and comedic featuring the Comedy Store Players,
The Comedy Store
Russell Kane and Kevin Eldon. The event notches up again for the second weekend with more of the Stones, as well as Elton John,
Ray Davies, Elvis Costello, Lionel Richie and Jennifer Lopez. Some of those names should please the older rockers among us (or even your own mum and dad) as well as those males who believe Jo Lo is the most bootylicious lady on this planet.
The weekday events will include film screenings and sport as well as comedy. There will be themed zones (a village green, a piazza and a carnival)
The Village Green
with installations and a huge choice of food and drink at various restaurants, cafes, bars and food stalls, including a pop up Bocca di Lupo.
Hospitality packages and disability access tickets are available through the website, where bookings can be made for Bocca di Lupo. Waterproof jackets and wellies are optional.
