If you want something different to do with your kids during the six weeks holidays, Brindleyplace will be hosting an outdoor film festival open to the general public.

The festival will last two weeks, starting Monday, 13 August and ending Tuesday, 28 August.

This is the first time that such an event has been held here, and the good thing about it is the fact that all films will be certified PG or under - meaning you can take your little ones knowing the film will be suitable and enjoyable for all of you.

Having an open air cinema has a different appeal to other cinemas, with many more people preferring it due to its vintage appeal and unusualness.

Films shown will include old classics such as 'Back to the Future', but will also include more recent blockbusters such as 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' and 'Happy Feet'.

There will also be take away options from some of the fantastic Brindleyplace restaurants, such as 'Wagamama' and 'Thai Edge'.

There really is potential here for a great day out, and something that you cannot do every day. However, you are advised to bring your own chairs and blankets as they will not be provided at the event.
