Brick Lane After Dark

For me, the best time to visit Brick Lane, the iconic street in the heart of Shoreditch, is after dark. Sure, Brick Lane looks good at any time, and some may argue that the best time to see the generally high quality street art is during the day, but for me the place comes alive once the sun goes down.
You see, Brick Lane isn't just a street of Indian restaurants and vintage shops, it is a cultural hub of bars, clubs and 24 hour bagel shops, all of which come fantastically to life in the evening.
One of the obvious advantages of visiting after dark - the lights. Once the natural light disappears, the neon comes on, and Brick Lane has plenty of it. Suddenly the street becomes a psychedelic blend of reds, greens and blues as restaurants, clubs and late-night cafes vie for attention. This might seem strange to say, but actually this place looks even better in the rain, the lights reflecting off pools of water to create neon light shows that are very photogenic.
The experience of buzzing Brick Lane after dark is one that keeps people flocking to this area - and one not to be missed. As I'm mentioning after dark, take the necessary precautions - it would be safer, and more enjoyable to go with friends, but once there feel free to enjoy a pint, a little bit of a dance to the latest sounds, or of course a curry....Brick Lane has it all.
