The Breakfast Club name is world-famous for all the right reasons, mainly because of the unforgettable movie that was brought to our screens all those years ago, but also because of the fantastic chain of cafes that the city of London boasts in its honour. The short but sweet list of Breakfast Club cafes sees them peppered across the capital, with the first of these established in 2005 on D'Arblay Street, Soho, where all good things seemingly start.

All the excitement of the London 2012 Olympic Games then brought with it the redevelopment of the east end of the city, and with it came Hackney Wick's Breakfast Club in 2016, a cafe that has since been full to the brim from dusk 'till dawn. Each link in the Breakfast Club chain comprises its own idiosyncrasies, and Hackney Wick is no different, where the venue's glass front opens up on a sunny summer's day to embrace the full effect of the glistening water of the River Lea.

There is always plenty of different happenings at the Breakfast Club at Hackney Wick, where lucky customers can either book ahead for a table, hire the venue privately or indeed do what most do and turn up on the day in the hope that a couple of seats are left! It's always busy, and it's unsurprising really, given the fact that boozy bottomless brunches, bingo, drinks specials and seasonal celebrations are on the cards.

Looking at the menu may just blow your mind away immediately, but give it a second to sink in and you'll be licking at your lips at the extensive range of pancakes and waffles on offer, or it may just be the Breakfast Club Classics that have stolen your attention, be it the Butternut Bubble or the Chorizo Hash, you'll be struggling to decide just which dish you should choose, and whether you should have the unique Elvis Shake or freshly squeezed orange juice to go with it.

On the Hackney Wick riviera, as locals have now donned it, where barges clutter the river and an array of bars and cafes fill up the empty space, the Breakfast Club somehow shines brightest, and its warm and welcoming staff are always ready to hear what you'll be treating yourself to on this particular trip to their proud establishment. Whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner, never panic on what to order, because when you go once, you'll have to go back again!
