Brandshatch Place Hotel and Spa is a traditional Georgian mansion which dates back to the duke of Norfolk in 1806. The picture perfect building is situated in the heart of the countryside known as the 'Garden of England,' and offers guests a luxury hotel and spa at reasonable prices.

During my visit to Brandshatch Place hotel and spa, I used the spa facilities and then indulged in afternoon tea for two. Afternoon tea was delightful, however the restaurant was full and therefore we ate in the lobby room which was still extremely relaxing and luxurious. The menu had a large selection of teas and the sandwiches and cakes were divine. There is a large selection of black and infused teas on offer from traditional English to Chinese lapsang souchong. An assortment of sandwiches and cakes are also presented to you, including scones with clotted cream and jam, banana and chocolate cake and meringues. The chocolate cake is perfect for chocolate lovers but may be slightly too rich for some - especially after eating all of the other deliciously sweet cakes. The spa facilities such as the pool, the hydrotherapy pool, sauna and crystal steam room were beautifully laid out and designed to make your visit utterly relaxing. The staff were also extremely friendly and helpful which made our stay more pleasurable.

The best day to visit Brandshatch Place is on a Sunday. Lunch courses are £23.50 with use of the spa or afternoon tea is £15.50. Brandshatch Place hotel and spa has now been officially been awarded two AA rosettes for exceptional cuisine, therefore trying the lunch menu is an absolute must. You can then make use of the luxurious pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi which is included in the price of your meal. It is advisable however to book in advance and ask for a free spa trial when booking, as their Sunday service can be very popular.

The bar by the spa is also very cosy and reasonably priced. This is a good spot to relax in after any treatment you may have had at the spa, and there is even a roof terrace you can enjoy when the sun is shining. The drawing room within the hotel is also a very elegant place to relax and have a drink during your visit. Morning coffee, afternoon tea, cocktails and late night digestifs can be ordered here during your stay. There are also doors opening onto the outdoor terrace with stunning views of the English countryside, which make it perfect for a sunny day.

The hotel rooms are very spacious and have a lot of character. There are many offers available to stay overnight, such as a one night stay with breakfast, pool usage, and the choice of two spa treatments including a detox full body salt scrub for £115 per person. On the website there are a range of deals to choose from which won't break the bank. The hotel is also the perfect place for a wedding venue with its beautiful grounds and its exceptionally elegant and sophisticated service. Wedding fayres and open days take place throughout the year and are designed to show you how the hotel would be set up on your wedding day.

The spa also has a gym and classes for those who would rather workout instead of having treatments. The Crèche is available to provide children with a fun and educational environment while parents are using the facilities.

With its stunning spa, delicious food and great prices, the Brandshatch Place hotel and spa is the perfect place to spoil yourself or to take someone special for valentine's day, mother's day or for any other special occasion.
