Book Slam at The Clapham Grand

London's only literary nightclub, Book Slam , is a nightly of monthly entertainment, featuring top writers, live music, and DJs. On the 3rd of September it will be popping up at The Clapham Grand , London's premiere nightclub. The later Victorian listed building was built in 1900 as a music hall, and has since been used as a cinema, bingo hall, and now a nightclub.

The doors open at 6.30pm with the entertainment starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 in advance or £8 at the door. This month will feature standup comedian, Mark Watson, who is also the author of Eleven, The Knot[/i], and Hotel Alpha%%.

He will be joined by Simon Rich who is a youngest writer to appear on Saturday Night Live, having authored Ant Farm: And Other Desperate Situations, Spoiled Brats, and his short story The Last Girlfriend On Earth, which is shortly to be turned into a sitcom.

The night will be hosted by Australian comic, Felicity Ward, and will also include performances from, poet, Sophia Thakur, and musician, Moss Project. Signed copies of the author's books will be on sale, and there will be a tasty food menu to enjoy.
