After a summer away Bongo's Bingo, AKA the BEST night out you'll ever experience, is back at Canal Mills for its weekly Wednesday slot.

Sure, when you think of a great night out 'bingo' isn't the first thing that comes to mind, but that's probably because you've never been to before.



Jonny Bongo, a blunt, straight-talking Irishman, hosts the event with his two sidekicks, Sweaty Betty & Slutty Sue. The night consists of 7 standard games of bingo, intercut with dance-offs, spontaneous raves and a lot of sing-a-longs. Each game is made up of 3 rounds, with prizes won for a line, two lines and a house. The house prize is always money, increasing throughout the night and each of the line prizes could be anything from a watermelon or three litres of lambrini to a week's holiday in Ibiza.

As the night goes on, events get weirder but you'll only get more swept up in the chaos. Be warned though, bingo isn't just a spectator sport and there's a slight chance you'll leave covered in cereal.

Whilst I'd love to tell you all the secrets of Bongo's, the less you know before going, the better. Each game brings a new surprise, and that's part of the reason it's such a memorable night out.

Canal Mills, about a 10 minute bus ride from Leeds City Centre, hosts the event and whilst drinks are on the pricier side, there are usually drink deals to help you buy. Entry is only £5, and that includes your book and bingo dabber.
