Hollywood legend Bill Murray is the undoubted star of the show as music charity B:Music unveils its summer 2025 season across its two iconic venues in Birmingham. Bill, whose hit movie roles include
Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day and
Scrooged, is making a visit to Birmingham on June 25 as part of just three UK dates. He will be appearing alongside cellist Jan Vogler, who he became friends with in New York, pianist Vanessa Perez, and violinist Mira Wang. Together, they deliver their
New Worlds show that showcases the core of American values in literature and music.
However, B:Music's summer programme, which runs from the beginning of May through to the end of July, has plenty of other star names with which to attract audiences to the Second City, representing the worlds of comedy, live music, dance and the spoken word on its two famous stages.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor returns to Symphony Hall for what promises to be an unforgettable night of dance-pop anthems and pure energy on 2 June, while later that month, fellow vocalist Macy Gray also makes a welcome Symphony Hall appearance (28 June). Other musical highlights include Mnozil Brass as they celebrate their 30th anniversary, and the Vitamin String Quartet, the celebrated classical crossover ensemble, who perform at Town Hall in May in a show entitled
The Music of Taylor Swift, Bridgerton, and Beyond.
There is also the chance to join the Novello Orchestra for the Marvel Studios’ Infinity Saga Concert Experience (5 June) which will see the audience treated to an unprecedented live concert journey revisiting the earliest days of
Iron Man, Captain America, and
Thor, each accompanied by their own unforgettable heroic music and visuals on the big screen. In addition, music fans can also enjoy the contrasting talents of household name Aled Jones and five-time Grammy-winning guitarist Robert Cray.

For dance fans, the programme starts on 23 May with
A Night to Remember - the brand-new show from
Strictly favourites Aljaz Škorjanec and Janette Manrara. And if you can’t get enough Strictly stars, then Oti Mabuse brings her show Viva Carvival to Birmingham in June, accompanied by the queen of the tango,
Strictly legend Flavia Cacace. And if that is not enough toe-tapping fun, dynamic new dance show Red Hot and Ready brings together
Strictly stars Dianne Buswell and Vito Coppola in July. They are joined by a cast of multi-disciplined dancers from around the world, as well as sensational vocalists and a live band. To cap things off, Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice return with their brand-new live show
Together Again (28 July).
Comedy sees the appearance of Tim Minchin, the incomparable singer-songwriter, pianist, comedian, actor, musical-theatre composer and lyricist who comes to Symphony Hall with his new show celebrating the 20th anniversary of his explosive arrival onto the British comedy scene (9 June, 9-10 July). He is joined on the stand-up stage by the likes of
Omid Djalili: Namaste (16 May),
Al Murray: Guv Island (22 May),
Ellie Taylor: Palvering (24 May), and
Rhys Darby: The Legend Returns (5 June).
