The very first time I visited Blake's I knew I had found a new 'regular,' and now that the barista knows my order by heart I think I can safely say I was right.

With an open, warm atmosphere and a simple menu Blake's is a great place for a coffee date or group lunch. The decor is warm and cosy, with long wooden tables and window-side benches. If you prefer a late night there are also weekly live acoustic sessions every Friday from 8pm, and I've even hit upon the occasional comedy night, though these can be sporadic so it's best to give them a call (number below) for full details.



Blake's is right in the heart of Newcastle at 53 Grey Street, just down from Lloyd's Bank, near Monument Metro Station.

If you'd like to stray off-menu I'd recommend the London Fog, a dreamy mix of Earl Grey with frothed milk and a touch of vanilla. The ham and cheese toastie or New York bagel are safe bets, and there are always crisps on the side. Blake's also has an extensive breakfast menu which runs through until 2pm.
