Brit Award winners to mark 10th anniversary with concert
A classical music group will be celebrating their landmark 10th anniversary in style when they perform in concert at the Lichfield Garrick theatre in Staffordshire. The Brit Award winning vocal trio Blake will be set to thrill audiences with the power and strength of their singing when they take to the stage at the Garrick on Saturday 1 September to commemorate a decade of performing together. The much anticipated show will feature songs from their brand-new 10th anniversary album including Elgar's 'Nimrod', the Beatles' 'Here There and Everywhere', 'Somewhere' from West Side Story, and the classic 'Caruso', along with all the band's popular anthems in powerful three-part harmony. The spectacular show will be backed with video projections and emotive lighting mixed in with the boys' famously off-piste banter.
Blake will be celebrating their 10th anniversary in style
With more than 600 concerts performed in the UK alone, along with more than 150 TV appearances worldwide (including Graham Norton, The One Show and Strictly Come Dancing) Blake continue to thrill audiences young and old across the world. Since their debut album release in 2007 Blake have achieved phenomenal success with their album going straight to No. 1 in the UK Classical Album Chart and taking the pop charts by storm. With more than 100,000 copies of the album selling in just three weeks, the group earned their first Gold Disc. Recognised by the music industry for their talent, the album received the prestigious Classical Brit Award for Album of the Year in 2008 – a huge honour for a group that was still less than a year old. Earlier this year Blake celebrated their 10th anniversary with a brand new album, recorded in collaboration with the Central Band of the RAF and singers from the Miltitary Wives Choirs. The 13 track album was recorded in various locations around the UK, notably RAF Northolt and Sonica Studios. With big arrangements, full orchestra and choir, the album recreates the lush classical-crossover feel of their debut album 'Blake' from 2007 but updated for the trio harmony sound they apply now.
Blake will be performing at the Lichfield Garrick from Saturday 1 September at 7.30pm. A limited number of tickets costing £23, plus a few front row VIP tickets remain and can be booked online at www.lichfieldgarrick.com or by calling the Box Office on 01543 412121.
