Birmingham Savoyards Celebrate Anniversaries with Pirates of Penzance

It's ships ahoy this March as the Birmingham Savoyards Gilbert and Sullivan Society bring their production of The Pirates of Penzance to the city's Old Rep Theatre.

The society celebrates two landmark milestones with the performance – 60 years since it was founded at the Theatre Centre in Islington Row and 50 years since it moved to the Old Rep.



One of Gilbert and Sullivan's best-known operettas, The Pirates of Penzance tells the tale of apprentice pirate Frederic and his love for the Major General's daughter Mabel and is packed with the duo's trademark songs.
