Hidden in an industrial estate in the heart of Birmingham's suburbia is an Aladdin's cave of treasures that can be viewed just once a month.
Birmingham Museum has so many exhibits that there are half a million artefacts, treasures and vintage memorabilia that end up housed in the cavernous warehouse in Nechells.
On the last Friday of every month, the Collection Centre allows people to view its valuables for free within from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. It is essential to book a place in advance on 0121 675 2579.

Eclectic
There is such an eclectic mix of items that you can find a range of fashion and shoes from the past two centuries sitting in lockers near to hair accessories from ancient Egypt.

Some exhibits, particularly the smaller items, are in storage lockers with wide bars in a climate controlled room, while larger items incude engines and the first computers, even an Egyptian mummy case and an early dialysis machine.
Birmingham's Motoring History
There is plenty of motoring history too stored in a warehouse with a range of scooters, a Sinclair C5, an early Harley Davidson bike and sidecar from 1915, locally produced motorcycles from Royal Enfield and Ariel, and Birmingham produced cars including vintage Rovers.
