Birmingham is set for ten days of laughter as the city's annual Comedy Festival takes place during October 2016.

Headliners include Romesh Ranganathan (Oct 9 & 12, Town Hall), The Boy With Tape On His Face (Oct 13-15, mac birmingham) and Kerry Godliman, co-star of Ricky Gervais' TV show Derek (Oct 14, The Glee).

The festival also welcomes Irishman Jason Byrne (Oct 16, Town Hall), topical stand-up Matt Forde (Oct 7, The Old Rep), Nathan Caton (Oct 13, The Glee), Justin Moorhouse (Oct 8, The Old Rep), and Tony Law with Barbara Nice (Oct 14, Station pub, Sutton Coldfield).

The festival officially kicks off with the third Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent Award (Oct 7, The Glee), and features two free Half-Dayers in the city centre (October 9 & 16). Taking place at Cherry Reds and The Victoria, on John Bright Street, the successive Sunday afternoons see more than 18 acts perform new shows, among them Josh Pugh, improv' troupe Foghorn Unscripted, world-ranked board gamer James Cook, podcasters News With Jokes, Karen Bayley, Hannah Silvester, Lovdev Barpaga and Gareth Berliner.
