Ireland is hosting the Big Start for the Giro, the first 3 stages of the Giro d'Italia cycle race that starts in Belfast on 9 May and finishes across the border in Dublin on 11 May. It is the world's second most important cycling race along with the Tour de France and the Vuelta a Espana. Cycling enthusiasts and families can enjoy 4 days of celebrations in Belfast, followed by spectacular opening stages in Northern Ireland before racing from Armagh to Dublin. You can also see the cycling teams up close on 8 May on the grounds of Belfast City Hall. Around 140,000 spectators are expected to line the roads, with an estimated TV audience of 775 million people in 174 countries.
