Sometimes London can feel like an unhealthy, dirty place - full of rubbish, burger wrappers and fast food stores. Let me guide you to a beacon of healthy sunshine between the oily puddles of Central Soho - we'll soon be arriving at
...
This has for too long been a secret place for those in the know, the people who take their friends to indulge in tasty food which is as good for them as it is good to look at. It is a place where the spirit of Camden's food stalls is instilled into a small store on Berwick Street, and nourishes all those within the area who want their bodies to feel - well, happy.
First of all, the name comes from the purple root vegetable which is a favourite of those as a pickle, or as a roast root vegetable - fitting really considering this is a vegetarian restaurant. It is also a very economical place to eat, as you don't choose by dish, but by
size of the portion you are going to have - perfect for those who want to try a little of everything - or those who want one dish, but like the look of another (it happens).
So you're not hungry, but are still feeling a bit naughty, well grab a seat and a cake, because this is one of the few places you can eat a flapjack or a muffin (even with chocolate) and still feel like you have done your body some good. wash it all down with a coffee or even a Chai, and you're ready to face the world once more.
All in all, a great place on one of London's more interesting streets - the perfect stop between record buying trips or just for a place you can take a friend without having to worry about dietary requirements (or diets for that matter). Don't make yourself turn as red as beetroot with embarrassment for not going here - your body will thank you for it...
