The bees have landed in Manchester! This fabulous new art exhibition is bringing giant bee sculptures to the city of Manchester for a new, interactive art trail called Bee in the City.

Throughout the summer, these sculptures will be available on the streets of the city and even in some famous landmarks. Brought to us by Wild in Art and Manchester City Council , the amazing art event will give visitors the city a chance to explore and hunt down the decorative bees.

This is one of the biggest art events to ever grace the city, with over 100 bees to discover it is a chance for the whole family to get involved. The program also encourages people to get fit and get out walking bringing art and health together.

There is something for everyone on the trail as the bees are waiting to be discovered in parks, next to historical landmarks and near heritage sites. You may get to see some hidden gems in the city. The great thing about the art exhibition is that each bee is unique. They have been designed and decorated by different artists making each one a unique representation of the city. With local artists, schools and businesses taking part, it is a show which has brought the city together.

Anyone interested in getting involved can pick up a free map of the trail or download one online. Alternatively, you can buy the app for £1.99 (available on android and apple phones) and get involved with interactive games and competitions as you try to discover all the bees. You will also receive discounts from businesses around the city whilst the event is taking place. The app also includes a pedometer so you can keep track of how far you've walked on your journey.

This summer event is perfect for families with children hoping to keep their little ones entertained over the summer. You can pick up a free map from the Visitor Information Centre at 1 Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester city centre, M1 1RG. You can take fun trips whilst looking for the bees and also enjoy the many free heritage sites around the city. The school holidays don't have to be expensive and this is a great event to get involved in.

Come along to the city and join the trail taking place from 23 July until 23 September 2018. This is one art exhibition you won't want to miss!
