Study the self at this interactive arts workshop

As part of the Beacons programme the workshop will be led by artist Renata Minoldo. The aim of the class is to try exercises that utilise all the senses in an attempt to bring out emotions, feelings and memories. Through simple moves and exercises the idea is to work from the inside out, to understand both the physical and spiritual body. Beacons is an arts programme including talks, exhibitions and workshops. With the support of the Arts Council a range of events are being offered to residents and visitors to Manchester. The overall purpose of the programme is to explore feminism, self-expression and the relationships we have with our own ego and sense of 'self'.

Run by artist Renata Minoldo attendees have the chance to work with the fashion design graduate who is currently working on exploring perceptions amongst other concepts such as fantasy and rituals. The teaching artist has lots of experience running workshops and is able to lead the class in a range of interesting and though provoking concepts. Come along and try something new and different.

For the workshop you will need to:
Bring a blanket, water bottle and a yoga mat (if possible)
Eat healthy food for at least two days before the class
Drink only water for at least two days before the class
Bring something personal (an object/item) which you will give away as a present
Wear suitable and comfy clothing

The workshop lasts for three hours and will include a break and a selection of healthy snacks for you to enjoy. This is a friendly and inclusive class so all are welcome to attend. This is set to be an uplifting and positive experience and it is completely free to attend but booking is required through Eventbrite.

Taking place on Saturday 13th January the workshop will run between 1pm-4pm at Islington Mill Gallery Space.

Come along and explore your sense of self in this Beacons exhibition.
