Moseley Road Baths in Birmingham has launched a new series of podcasts all recorded in bathtubs!
Developed over a six month period, each of the ‘Bathcasts’ podcasts is hosted by comedian Rachel Baker who interviews people connected to the historic baths about their lives and the community building - with the interviews taking place within one of Moseley Road Baths tubs.
Alongside these interviews, the podcasts feature six young curators who have commissioned original poetry and music for each episode from 10 Birmingham artists. The podcasts form part of the Young Curators Programme within the Moseley Road Baths Diving In Project and have been funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Gaby Songui, Creative Producer for the Young Curators Programme, said:
"Telling their own stories has been key to the Young Curators programme, with each of the curators considering their experiences in Balsall Heath, as creatives, at Moseley Road Baths and it’s been brilliant seeing this result in an innovative series of podcasts. The podcast encourages you to listen to it in the bath at home, immersing yourself in water at the same times as our interviewees."
‘Bathcasts’ are available weekly until mid-January and can be found on
Spotify . Each week includes a different interviewee including Adam Wynn, Malikah and Shazia, Sadim Garvey, Ayan Aden and Fabio Henriques, all individuals with a connection to Moseley Road Baths.
