In the film world it is big features that get all the hype. They're the ones that get shown at your local cinema; they're the ones you hear about on the news; they're the ones get reviewed in newspapers. But what about shorts? There are some excellent filmmakers out there who just make short films, but the general public rarely hear about them. These films tend to be at film festivals and watched by people in the industry, but if you want to see shorts, you usually have to seek them out.

For those who are seeking, you have now found, for Bar Shorts is a pop-up film club showcasing short films. Curated by director, Chris Shepherd and 12Foot6 animation studio, the club promises 'boozy, filmy, funny evenings'.

Bar Shorts is returning on the 7th October to The Book Club in Shoreditch, where it will be bringing you a Barmageddon night. Watch topical, eye-opening, and comical tragedies in the apocalyptic form all for free. Starting from 7pm, it will feature filmmakers such as Michael Marczewski, Jake Fried, Magali Charrier, Ying Ping Mak, Leo Verrier, Richard Condie, Marcus Armitage, Gergely Wootsch, Kirsten Lepore, Dog Judo, Emma Burch, Monica Forsberg, Patrick Barron, and more. Although free, it you need to register to say you are coming.
