Fusing Californian cuisine with most varieties of European food, Balans Soho. satisfies all taste pallets. Although loud and seemingly busy all the time, I have never had an experience in which I have been turned away due to lack of available tables. The waiting staff are friendly, patient and never seem to be stressed considering the rather hectic style of place.
The starters range from Peking Duck spring rolls to deep fried calamari rings, I also strongly recommend the chicken liver pate with toast. My personal favourite main course is the Crab Linguine followed closely by the Seafood Jambalaya. Somehow Balans is even successful in making a delicious salad.
Offering a classic cocktail selection of Cosmopolitans, Mojitos and Mai Tai's, Balans is a place where one could literally spend hours. If you feel your night winding down in the wee hours, go down to Soho on Old Compton Street.
