Ask Italian, Spice Quay

Located by the iconic Tower Bridge lies one of Ask Italian's restaurants, a popular Italian chain founded in 1993. Whilst there are over 100 restaurants throughout the UK, Butler's Wharf restaurant is a huge competitor in location, allowing its customers to dine just feet away from the Thames, making it a great spot for lunch or dinner. I decided to check out the authentic Italian cuisine for myself.
Skeptical about how busy this place would get, I booked a table in advance during prime dinner time (between 7-8). Despite being a weekday, I was shocked however to find there was a mere 3 tables full on arrival, and no more than 5 by the time we had left. Despite this, it was clear there was no reason for it to be so quiet, as the food was delicious and the staff who served us were friendly, warm and welcoming.
Wanting to stay true to my authentic Italian palate, I ordered classic lasagne, whilst for a drink I had a delicate Frascati wine, finishing off with a shot of Limoncello to finish. The meal itself was far from insipid, and nicely presented. Prices are very reasonable here, around £12 average for main, with a glass of wine costing a £5-6 average. What's more, the view will no doubt be a huge highlight of your evening here (I'd recommend going at night when Tower Bridge is lit up). If Tower Bridge is a tad too far for you and your friends, other popular London locations include Soho, Mayfair, Kensington and Paddington.
