These days the idea of combining food and horses together may not go down well with the public, but when it comes to Ascot's
Festival of Food & Wine I don't think you have anything to worry about. Not with celebrity chef, James Martin, headlining the event.
Race day on the 6th September should be one to remember. Not only will you experience a thrilling mile-and-a-half flat race featuring Britain's most valuable three-year old handicap, but in between events you will be treated to culinary delights and demonstrations.
Dine On 5, the new bespoke equestrian themed restaurant, which opened during Royal Ascot. Featuring a trackside balcony along the final furlong, you can cheer on the horses as they race to the finish. James Martin will be serving an exclusive three-course set menu that includes a Thai crab risotto starter, spiced roasted duck breast for the mains, and a devilish dessert of white chocolate and whisky croissant butter pudding. As part of the experience, James Martin will also make a personal appearance to all his guests. This core package costs £145 per person, but there also other options available, such as Afternoon Tea for £18, a drinks package for £35, or a James Martin Demonstration package for £37. This will include premiere seats, a demonstration of two signature dishes, a cheese tasting, wine, and a gift bag.
Alternatively, if you are just interested in race, then grandstand seats start from £20 and premiere seats from £27. You can then choose to browse the many food and wine stalls held by both local and international producers.
