I've been in town and seen a crane erecting a building today. I thought it was some minor event, but in fact it's the foundations for the aerial artists of The Hippodrome Theatre's performance: As The World Tipped .
If you remember The Voyage that took place last winter you'll know how exciting and fun it is to watch people swing their bodies across what appears to be a floating stage. Flying through the air and seemingly care free, the performers will be telling a story with their bodies. This outdoor show will feature dramatic film and visual effects, and stunning choreography, all alongside a narrative that hopes to capture the audience.
Organisers describe the performance in two sentences:
"At the Secretariat of the Copenhagen Climate Change conference, harassed staff fail to notice as the world around them literally and metaphorically slides toward disaster. Suspended above the audience in the night sky, the performers struggle to control their increasingly precarious world as they do battle with the effects of drastic environmental catastrophe". - The Hippodrome
It sounds pretty powerful, and if The Voyage is anything to go by As The World Tipped will be a flurry of gasps and woops from the audience as we all hold our breath and also seem to soar above the ground with a story that does more than move us.

The performers will be suspended on a tipping stage in the sky above the audience, so watch out for a shoe, or hat, which may come off mid-air.
