On Friday, 31 January 2025, at 7:30 pm, you can waltz—or rather, flap your way—over to the Albert Hall in Nottingham for "Art of Andalucia | Flamenco Dance." Tickets are £31, so bring your wallet, and maybe a few extra pounds for a cheeky beverage. After sweeping audiences off their feet (literally) across the UK, Ireland, and even Germany, Daniel Martinez is back with a brand new show that's all about putting flamenco dance front and centre. Imagine a whirlwind of colourful costumes and fiery footwork that's bound to leave you contemplating if you should take up dancing lessons or stick to your two left feet.
The evening stars the exceptional Angel Reyes, a global flamenco sensation who's performed with the likes of Manuel Linan and Jesus Carmona. With a technique so sharp it could cut through steel, he's set to dazzle your socks off. And let's not forget Gabriela Pouso, the main dancer from the Daniel Martinez Flamenco Company, who brings her elegant flair and intensity to the stage. It's a little like watching a beautiful firework display, minus the fear of a sudden downpour ruining the fun. The dancers will groove to some awesome original tunes by Daniel Martinez himself, accompanied by the incredible voices of Inma Montero and Danielo Olivera, along with Julian Ticotico on percussion—it's the kind of night where you might just find yourself tapping your feet along, whether you want to or not. So come on over for a night of foot-stomping fun that celebrates the vibrant heart of flamenco.
