How do you, as a cool cat who's interested in the latest in art and design, lay your hands on the work of one of the up and coming artists of your generation? Hint: it's not from a gallery. No, it's direct from the artist at the , where you can literally buy art out of the back of an artist's boot (which will be parked at the Old Truman Brewery near Brick Lane).

It's not just the next work of great art that you'll uncover here either – you'll also be entertained, fed and watered – and see a model turn herself into a human snow globe. And there will be other non-art things to buy too.

It's not going to all artists you haven't heard of, who are just on the cusp of becoming household names, there's also going to be work by some ready formed household names for sale, including a collection of limited edition prints by Damien Hirst (of that shark in formaldehyde fame), Marcus Harvey (of that Myra Hindley painting), Ryan Mosley (known for his carnival themed work) and the Chapman Brothers (whose work is known best for being sensationally vulgar and/or offensive). These will be priced between £200 - £300.

The other thing about the is that it also has a bit of a car theme going on. It's sponsored by Vauxhall, so there are numerous pieces of 'Vauxhall art' happening, including covering an Ampera (it's a kind of Vauxhall) in magnetic bananas and a turning a touring van (Vauxhall of course), into a stationary van on wheels - selling stationary designed by Tracey Emin (of that messy bed fame). They also do a range called Pretty Taxing, which are exclusively commissioned car tax disc holders from artists who belong to the line up.

There's also an opportunity to create your own art at the 'Boules in a China Shop' stall, to have your fortune told by a Big Fat Gypsy Fortune Teller (in the back of a van – Vauxhall) and – and this one is my favourite – bring in any of your own art, that you might have lying around the house and don't like, and have it improved at the Art Improvement Clinic, where a team of famous and emerging art talents will make it better for you.

And you get all this for just £3, which is only a fraction more than what you'd pay to attend a regular car boot sale and those, frankly, are s***e in comparison. You're so rock n' roll.
