As soon as you pass the Archipelago gate, you will find yourself transported. You will forget the rain falling outside, thanks to decoration worthy of an exotic art museum. There are wooden pieces hung on the walls, statues of Buddha in the four corners of the room, feathers of skins hanging everywhere. You are at Archipelago.

The reservation itself was a bit original: we were given a password to announce on arrival. The menu is a treasure map and the dessert menu is presented inside a book.

They offer you all kinds of dishes that you surely have not had the opportunity to taste like python carpaccio, crocodile wraps, alpaca (a kind of llama), or a salad of locusts. The choice is very difficult. But the waiters are really very friendly and answer each of our questions with interest.

I start with locusts accompanied by quinoa and fresh spinach. I found this entry very refined. My friend has chosen to risk crocodile wraps, where the taste is a little like chicken but the texture of the meat is slightly different. Wrapped in a vine leaf and accompanied by young shoots of asparagus, it is very good. My friend got tempted by the piece of buffalo. It was a real delight, the meat really very tender and tasty. It was garnished with a garlic butter sauce with a thin salad and sweet potato with bacon.

Prices are quite high, I must admit. This is a restaurant where you go for a special occasion. Normally, a meal starter, main course and dessert is about £35 per person. Count on £40 if you are having wine.
