Marble Arch is no longer just a shopping place

Sometimes you can get tired shopping on Oxford Street - no really, you can. With bags in each hand, and not much space, or will, to carry much more, you can suddenly find yourself stuck within a throng of shoppers, who at breakneck speed want to make you realise you have very little chance of getting off this street without breaking into a sweat.

My recommendation - have a plan, and stick to it. As soon as you have exhausted your shopping capabilities, get set for plan B- get off Oxford Street and find a place to take a load off your feet - even sipping a cocktail while you do so. In other words - get yourself to Apres Bar.

Apres Bar, located close to Marble Arch, and therefore Hyde Park too, offers quality to its customers - offering a space to see live music, listen to dj's, sip on cocktails and eat some seriously tasty food. The mural on the outside wall makes it easy to spot too...

Now, about those cocktails...

let's just say with names like Ultimate F***ing Bloody Mary, and Sharon Stoned, you know you're onto something a little bit special. The food to accompany the drinks is equally as scrumptious looking, especially if you like bite-size gourmet burgers and dipping treats.

Stepping out onto the terrace will allow you to try some of a wide range of sheesha on offer here. There are so many flavours on offer, with everything from the starter to the experienced smoker catered for, that the terrace will become your best friend if smoking flavoured tobaccos is your thing...

Then there's the entertainment - nearly every night of the week there is something there to entertain you - guitarists in the early evening at the beginning of the week transforms into a live saxophonist and keyboard player in the middle - ending in DJs into the early, early morning come the weekend.

With everything I have just presented you with, I'm sure you'll agree, when the shops start to close their doors in the Marble Arch area, this is a plan B that will take a lot of beating...

That artwork is excellent. It looks more like chalk than paint.
