A dance spectacular is promised as ballroom duo Anton du Beke and Erin Boag tour the UK with their new production, From Broadway to Hollywood.

The show, which visits Birmingham Symphony Hall on January 27, also features vocalist Lance Ellington from the Strictly Come Dancing band, six ensemble dancers and the 25-piece London Concert Orchestra conducted by Richard Balcombe.

The audience can expect sensational choreography, sparkling costumes and a musical score that includes such classics as Somewhere in Time, Cry Me a River, Mr Bojangles, Downtown, This Nearly Was Mine, New York, New York, Couple of Swells and Libertango. There will also be the popular 'Q and A' section, providing some fun interaction with the audience.

Anton says: "It's show time again! Erin and I are delighted to be back with a brand new production. This will be our tenth tour so we really hope everyone will join us in celebrating a decade of dance!"

Last year was particularly memorable for Anton. He partnered Ruth Langsford on Strictly Come Dancing (he has appeared in all 15 series), he became a father to twins and he released his debut album, From The Top, a celebration of old-school swing. Tracks include Putting On The Ritz, Me And My Shadow and Something Stupid.

Anton says: "I've been singing for almost as long as I've been dancing. I've sung at my dance shows and I've sung on Strictly but I never believed I would finally get the chance to make an album.

"All the songs on the album are hugely emotional to me. Music and dance has been my world since the age of 14. I was dancing ballroom before Strictly was even a ghost of an idea. I had to be in work at 3am in a bakery and I would finish work and go straight to dance practice. I had holes in my shoes and absolutely no money but I'd stand in my one suit and a band would play one of these great classic songs and all my troubles would melt away and I would be in heaven.

"What I wanted to do with the album was to perform the songs I love in the absolute best way I possibly could. I was able to work with the best musicians, the best backing singers and wonderful performers like Connie Fisher who sings City of Stars."

For Anton, From The Top is proof that the best things in life come to those who wait - and keep on believing.

He says: "I spent my 20s and 30s penniless, with just a lot of dreams. I never stopped working as hard as I could to be the best dancer I could be. It has now created an opportunity for me with my singing. With the belief and encouragement of my family, friends and colleagues at Strictly, making this album has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I got a record deal within months of becoming a father to my gorgeous twins and then marrying my beautiful wife.''
