Funk, Rock, and Bowl
If Amy Winehouse was still here today, she would be celebrating her thirtieth birthday. Her friends and family still think her life deserves to be celebrated, so this September, they have organised a series of charitable events to honour the much missed R&B singer. All the profits will go towards the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which was set up to prevent drug and alcohol abuse among young people.
#Amys30 will kick off with a launch party at the Proud Gallery in Camden on the 11th September. It will also be the opening of an artist exhibition, 'For you I was a Flame', which will last until the 6th October.
On the 13th September, the Mayor of Camden will host a Birthday Singalong at the Gilgamesh Restaurant in Chalk Farm.
There will be lots of live music events at nightclubs around the area, as well as a comedy night, vintage fair, and pop-up shop selling vintage guitars. The biggest fundraiser will be a Mass Parachute Jump on the 29th September. Registration has ended, but you can still go to see the event, or sponsor someone taking part.
