Everyone, I am sure, is all too familiar with superheroes such as Superman, Batman, the X-Men, and The Avengers, with another Spiderman film also just released at the cinema. But comic book fans will undoubtedly know a great deal less about a new superhero who is about to appear in the Staffordshire town of Tamworth. In fact, audiences will be able to meet the world's newest, greatest and most unlikely comic book superhero when 'The Amazing Adventures of Superstan' is performed by the Stage it! Academy on Sunday 9th July.

The story of comic book superhero 'Superstan' will be rolled out at the Landau Forte 6th form theatre in Ashby Road, Tamworth, with two separate performances showing at 11am and 1.30pm. The Amazing Adventures of Superstan, which has been created by Craig Hawes, tells the story of an ordinary boy called Stanley Marvel, whose life is turned upside down when a local hero turns out to be a super-villain determined to rule the world! Stanley takes to the skies as a caped crusader fighting for truth, freedom and justice using his own super powers. Audiences can expect this 'marvellous' musical to pack a powerful punch with its witty script, colourful characters and catchy tunes, all combining to provide theatre-goers with an unforgettable show that promises to be simply super!
Stage it! Academy rehearsing for The Amazing Adventures of Superstan
Stage it! Academy is a performing arts academy for youngsters aged between four and 18 years of age based in Tamworth. The academy provides both fun and exciting teaching for its young students, offering a variety of stage skills. Earlier this year Stage it! performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London as well as a number of theatres around the country. Tickets to see The Amazing Adventures of Superstan at the Landau Forte theatre are priced at £10 each and £6 for concessions. They can be purchased online, in person from Tamworth Information Centre in Marmion House, Lichfield Street, or by calling the Box Office on 01827 709618. A transaction fee of £1 is payable on all online and telephone bookings. Audiences are asked to arrive at the theatre half an hour before the start of the performance they are attending, so 10.30am for the 11am start and 1pm for the 1.30pm.
