What to do with Power

Almeida started off as a society in a small lab room that had an interest in literary and scientific study. Almeida is still a small room, but that lab has now turned into a theatre, and that theatre has an international reputation. They like to produce plays that ask big questions about how we live, and the theme of their Spring Season 2014 is all about power.

King Charles III
3rd April - 31st May, 9-36

The Queen is dead and Charles has now taken the throne. After years of waiting, he is now in power, but what to do with it? Written by Mike Bartlett, King Charles III explores the unwritten rules of our democracy by taking a closer look at the Royal Family.

Mr Burns
5th June - 19th July, 9-36

Making its European premiere, Anne Washburn's new play, Mr Burns uses America's most famous (albeit fictional) family to explore a theoretical future where the US has no power. What will survive of its society and pop culture?
