Learn African Drumming

Trafalgar Square is about to become a hub of African culture. On the 11th October between 12pm - 6pm, expect to see drummers, acrobats, and dancers. There'll be a talent show for young people, a fashion show, food stalls, market, and free family workshops.

Entertainment will begin with Anna Mudeka on the main stage. Winner the 'Most Influential Women in Business and Government in Africa for 2013/14', the Zimbabwean musician plays the Mbira - a type of thumb piano - and promotes African music worldwide. She will be followed by Nigerian keyboard player Dele Sosimi, who will be giving an Afrobeat Experience.

While your listening to the music, you can get creative with mosaic making, face painting, henna tattoos, batik painting, and hair braiding.
