Learn something new this spring
It's now a long time since New Year, and perhaps your resolutions have started to wane, or have completely fallen by the wayside. If so, why not take up something new in spring, which is a much better time to start something new anyway: a time of growth, and life, days lengthening, and energy increasing.

If the idea of the green shoots of spring catches your fancy, then you might be interested in an open evening at the Royal Botanic Gardens of Edinburgh on their Adult Education programme. They have a huge range of courses from one-day workshops to longer courses and they are on subjects from the obvious, horticulture, but also more intriguing options like horticultural art, or meditation.

Meditation in the tranquil surroundings of the John Hope Gateway and the Botanics sounds a very tempting option to me, as I long for a little respite from the hectic lifestyle we subject ourselves to. If you're not sure what's for you, then the open evening will provide access to the course tutors so that you can have a chat about what's on offer. As an added bonus, they'll also be providing a voucher for a 5% discount on short course bookings. Refreshments will also be provided.

The event takes place on Tuesday 16th April, 18:00 – 20:00 in the Conference Room at the John Hope Gateway, and is free.
