Near the mats there is a bosu ball, medicine balls, kettle bells and free weights. If you prefer to swim, there are ladies only sessions on the timetable as well as times when only women can use the health suite. There is a mixed changing room but also separate sections for men and women. A lot of effort has gone into making sure women feel comfortable using the centre, which is nice to see.
In the mixed gym area, there is a bigger space with more options along with a water fountain and a larger weights area. With the gym open until 10pm on weekdays, there is plenty of time for everyone to fit in a workout in their day. Plus with music and TV screens on the walls, there is something to keep you entertained as you burn some calories. You can join fitness classes throughout the week including aqua fit, which will appeal to anyone looking to make their workout a more social experience. One amazing idea at the leisure centre are the vending machines offering healthier snacking options. It is easy to reach your fitness goals here.
The pool has a great timetable including family swims, adults only, school swimming and women only. A highlight of this centre is the friendly staff who are always willing to help. There are also great instructors and lifeguards who are available to give you advice, as well as knowledgeable reception staff.
