Get ready to dive into the enchanting world of Charles Dickens with a heartwarming reading of his classic, A Christmas Carol. Join us at the Monastery for a cozy storytelling session, where you can sip on spicy mulled wine or festive fruit punch while indulging in warm mince pies during the break. It's the perfect recipe for getting into the Christmas spirit, minus the stress of decorating the tree.

As narrator Finlay Tyson transports you into the life of old Scrooge—complete with his cringe-worthy miserly ways and a revelation about kindness that even the Grinch would approve of—you can sit back and appreciate the atmosphere of the stunning Great Nave. You'll have time to wander and soak up the Monastery's rich heritage before the reading kicks off. The tale will be split into two 45-minute parts, so you'll have ample time to discuss whether Scrooge should treat himself to a holiday bonus. Bring along your family or friends, and prepare for an afternoon of festive storytelling bliss. Doors open at 1.15pm, so don't make a habit of being late—Scrooge would not approve.
