People in and around Tamworth in Staffordshire are being invited to view a new community artwork project as part of the town's social media campaign. Tamworth Borough Council is encouraging visitors to view local street art in the town to help showcase the #Love Tamworth app launch. The new art project has been installed on hoardings around the Co-Op store demolition site in St Editha’s Square in the centre of Tamworth. It forms part of the new free augmented reality trail which visitors can download and enjoy around the town centre.
People can download the free app by searching Tamworth AR trails in the Google Play or Apple app store. The reality trail explores the town as visitors seek out 11 virtual ‘Love Tamworth’ tokens by completing mini-games at key locations. Children can collect a prize from the Tamworth Castle gatehouse shop while adults can enter a monthly prize draw. The council has been working in partnership with New Urban Era founder Vic Brown to produce the Tamworth-themed artwork that includes Aethelflaed, the Lady of Mercia herself, and a Robin Reliant car which was produced in Tamworth. More art can also be found on the New Urban Era cycle arts trail, with further information here:

New community art project in Tamworth
Members of the public are invited to get involved in the artwork by standing in the middle of the designs, taking a selfie and sharing on social media adding #LoveTamworth to the image and using the hashtags #VisitTamworth or #AmazingTamworth. The hope is to share Tamworth’s creativity from iconic three-wheeler cars and the town's rich heritage to beautiful street art. Vic Brown, who was joined by artist N4T4 for the instalment of the art project, said:
"We are really pleased to be part of another fantastic project in Tamworth and look forward to many people visiting and enjoying this special new mural for the town."
